Miss Universe 2021: India's Harnaaz Sandhu Bags Prestigious Pageant; Priyanka Chopra Congratulates Her For Bringing The Crown Home After 21 Years
Chandigarh born Harnaaz Sandhu is the new Miss Universe 2021. Harnaaz, who represented India at the 70th Miss Universe, held in Eilat, Israel, brought home the crown, 21 years after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000. In the second place was Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira, followed by Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane. Harnaaz was presented the crown by Andrea Meza, former Miss Universe 2020 from Mexico at the prestigious event.

The official Instagram handle shared a video of Harnaaz post her win and wrote in the caption, "WHO ARE YOU? #MISSUNIVERSE! @mouawad @harnaazsandhu_03." Netizens congratulated her on bagging the coveted pageant. A user wrote, "SO HAPPY." Another commented, "She's so beautiful and truly deserving for the crown. Priyanka Chopra Jonas took to Twitter to congratulate Harnaaz for bringing home the crown. She wrote, "And the new Miss Universe is... Miss India.. Congratulations @HarnaazSandhu03... bringing the crown home after 21 years!"

Urvashi Rautela also shared the moment of Harnaaz's win and wrote, "As a #MissUniverse Judge we made the best decision. I can't stop crying. We did it India."
Ahead of the event, Harnaaz had shared a video on Instagram and wrote, "Faith is unseen. It's felt. It's the feeling I have in my heart today. I have faith in God, my family and the blessings you all have showered on me. I have enjoyed my journey and as we near the end of this beautiful pageant, I want to relive memories with my family, my Punjab. I want you all to know, that I'm grateful for each and every one of you and for all the experiences I had in these 1.5 months. I'm already a winner. I have you all."
